Will shipping a laptop from New york to Barcelona, Spain be charged with vat/tax?
Hi, I want to ship a laptop from New York, USA to Barcelona,Spain. besides the shippment cost itself, which is quite high, will the laptop go through customs and I'll have to pay VAT / Import tax or can I ship it without having to pay tax. Thanks.

VAT will be collected at the standard rate, plus any import duties, plus a brokerage fee. The only way to avoid the VAT and duty is to carry it with you and not declare it upon entry into Spain. That would be illegal, though
